ABOUT PUTTING ON A SHOW

I started these courses to strip away the mystery surrounding the roles and terminology in the live event world. Let's face it, the industry can be a bit of a maze! There are theatre producers, film producers, event producers—all doing completely different jobs. A stage manager in theatre? Totally different from a stage manager in the corporate events world. And don't even get me started on the confusion between job titles in the UK versus the USA!

The truth is, roles and responsibilities in live events vary wildly depending on the context. It can feel overwhelming, especially for someone new trying to break into the industry. That's why people stick to "their team"—the ones they trust and know exactly what they'll do. But this makes it so hard for fresh talent to find their place.

I created these courses to focus on show production, an area that's often overlooked but is now more relevant than ever. These days, most event briefs feature performances, artists, and talent collaborations—meaning show production is becoming a core part of event marketing. But so many producers and clients have no idea how a show works, how to budget for it, or who's needed to pull it off. A poorly produced show doesn't just make the talent grumpy; it blows budgets, wastes resources, and delivers a flat, forgettable experience for the audience.

There are incredible creative directors out there, but they've often had to carve out their own path—whether as choreographers, dancers, or theatre directors transitioning into events. Because the roles in show production aren't clearly defined, it can feel unattainable for newcomers. This has created tight-knit, cliquey teams, where some people guard their knowledge out of insecurity or fear of being replaced.

That's where these courses come in. I believe anyone with a love of shows and live events—whether you're watching on TV or sitting in the audience, buzzing with excitement—should have the chance to learn what it takes to make them happen. From understanding the different roles to figuring out where your own strengths lie, these courses will help you find your path.

Unlike many event management courses, these ones dive deep into show production. They're led by kind, passionate, and current professionals who are working in the industry right now—not years ago. My goal is to share my excitement for shows, demystify the process, and offer you a clear, practical career path.

I want you to feel confident that working in live events isn't some unattainable dream. You don't need to spend years studying or go into debt to pursue a career you're passionate about. You can build a future in events, get paid well for it, and do something you truly love. Let's make it happen!
